Johnny Cash

Johnny Cash boldly spoke out in 1964 for Native American rights when he released a concept album entitled “Bitter Tears: Ballads of the American Indian.” He faced withering censorship and backlash for speaking out so eloquently with this, the first ’concept’ album that I know of, which addressed the plight of native people honestly and forcefully. In so doing he took a bold stance for all civil liberties and human rights. For those of you who don’t know much about this project, here are a couple of links that will lead you in to this great man’s vision for justice and the exposure of injustice. Johnny Cash had a lot of moxy to say the least. He fought all his life to bring these recordings and issues to light and Froggy hopes you will dig into this film and these songs and pass the torch along. God bless you Johnny Cash!!
